{"id":1461,"date":"2022-10-19T12:12:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-19T10:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/utinam.fr\/?p=1461"},"modified":"2022-11-03T18:23:03","modified_gmt":"2022-11-03T17:23:03","slug":"la-grande-horlo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/utinam.fr\/en\/la-grande-horlo\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>La Grande Horlo\u00a0<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u201cBesan\u00e7on owes its industrial development largely to its watchmaking school, l\u2019\u00c9cole d\u2019Horlogerie\u201c&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jean Minjoz, mayor of Besan\u00e7on, during Charles de Gaulle\u2019s visit to the school in 1962.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023, to celebrate the 160th anniversary of the \u00c9cole Nationale d\u2019Horlogerie of Besan\u00e7on, UTINAM will create a unique installation in the heart of the famous \u201cHorlo\u201d building, now housing the Lyc\u00e9e Jules Haag secondary school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cGrande Horlo\u201d, designed by Philippe Lebru, will take place in the school in the form of a grand installation, 14 metres high and 50 metres wide.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of a kind in its approach to time, with its chaotic pendulum, this monumental UTINAM clock will pay a special homage to years gone by and the clockmaking heritage of Besan\u00e7on, while also pointing to a new chapter in the history of the Horlo school and the city itself.
